Quick Tip #25 ~ Be “Perfect”

One of my favorite movie lines is about “Being Perfect”  from the Friday Night Lights movie.

The quote is:

“To me, being perfect is not about that scoreboard out there.  It’s not about winning.  It’s about you and your relationship to yourself and your family and your friends.  Being perfect is about being able to look your friends in the eye and know that you didn’t let them down, because you told them the truth.  And that truth is that you did everything you could – there wasn’t one more thing that you could’ve done. Can you live in that moment?”

You can change some of the words around:

“To me being perfect isn’t about how much weight you lost in a given week.  It’s not about ‘losing the weight.’  It’s about knowing that you’ve been working as hard as you can, eating as well as you can – that you did everything you could.”

Can you look yourself in the eye and say that there wasn’t one more thing you could’ve done?
